Mario Badescu skincare review! - Has it cleared my acne?

So as of right now, my skin is going through a period of being the clearest it's ever been.
As well as increasing my water intake, Ive also put a lot of focus on what products I use on my facial skin and use products that are more specifically targetted towards my very reactive skin.

I very kindly received this bundle of Mario Badescu skincare bits in a PR package from the Beauty Bay a few weeks ago and thought I would test it out, and give you my honest thoughts!

Ive always wanted to try out Mario Badescu products after seeing them in an Olivia Jade video on Youtube, and also how pretty they look whenever I go into Urban Outfitters - Honestly dont know why I hadnt tried them out sooner.

Firstly, because my skin is very acne prone and reactive to what I put on it, I was pleasantly surprised to see that there are a lot of products in the range tailored towards spot prone and sensitive skin!

✖️ Silver powder
I had NEVER heard of silver powder before, but the concept to me totally makes sense now. It's essentially a powder, which you add a little bit of water to turn it into a paste, and apply it to any areas where your skin is a little clogged. The silver then works to draw impurities out of the skin - Similar to a face mask.
I put the silver powder onto my T-zone and chin and used a baby wipe to clean it off after 10 minutes. It seemed to do a lovely job of closing up my pores and reduced the size of my existing blackheads quite considerably.

✖️ Glycolic acid cleanser and toner
I honestly LOVE products with glycolic acid in, so naturally ive got on really well with these two products. Here are a few of its benefits:

  • Derived from plants – such as sugar cane, pineapple and sugar beets- its botanical properties help to treat skin conditions such as Psoriasis, Melasma and Seborrheic keratosis
  • Can effectively remove the outermost layer of dead cells from the complexion, revealing brighter, fresher skin.
  • Products that contain Glycolic Acid are used often to treat scarring, skin discoloration and signs of ageing, like fine lines and wrinkles.

  • ✖️ Facial spray
I'm not going to lie, I didn't use this facial spray for a while due to the fact it has cucumber in the title - Cucumber, Aloe and Green tea to be exact. I really do hate cucumber, to smell...
However, on a 30-degree day when I found myself really hot, I reached for this spray to hopefully give my face a little refresh. My oh my - Its AMAZING!
It's SO incredibly refreshing, it doesn't have the overwhelming cucumber scent which I was worried about, and it just makes your skin feel and look so healthy.

A handbag essential for this summer and holidays! I'm now obsessed (You still won't find me actually eating a cucumber though)

    ✖️ Hyaluronic eye cream
If you're looking for a moisturising eye cream that isnt too heavy, or oily... this one is a babe. I hate nothing more than oily eye creams, especially since they have a funny way of making my cheeks and nose get all shiny too.
A little goes a very long way with this cream, and every morning and evening I dot a little bit under my eyes and gently pat it into my skin. It soaks in really quickly, allowing me to crack on with my makeup application without waiting too long. My skin is left feeling really soft, and my concealer doesn't budge on top of it either.

    ✖️ Drying Lotion
The drying lotion does exactly what it says on the bottle, it dries up my spots!
I pop a little bit on a q-tip and sweep it over my spot, leave it overnight, and by morning my spot has either fully disappeared, or dried up considerably.
Its a real must for people who suffer from oily spots, random breakouts and painful whiteheads!

So as a conclusion, I've definitely noticed a positive change in my skin texture and a lengthened time between when spots appear. Im impressed!
Let me know if youve tried out any other items from the range! Their oil free moisturiser is next on my shopping list.

As you can see from this unedited.. #nofilter photo, my skin looks SO clear!
I am wearing foundation, but it's sitting so beautifully on my skin and there isn't any bumpiness or pesky spots peaking through. When I was a teenager I could have only DREAMT of having skin that my makeup sat this well on top of :)
